Initial Game Direction Explained:

The Direction of the game is one of the most important parts of any design you do. Why? Well you will over time forget or get sidetracked in the direction you want to go in either by your following or your publisher' wish or even through your games marketability. So your initial design is very important so you understand where it all started and how you slowly built off that inspired idea you had while behind your desk or in the bathroom.

Initial Game Direction:

The main idea is to have players start the creating their "unique" race (Spore Concept) and be randomly placed on a planet that can support your new life form. You will start off as a one of the random begins on the planet and slowly help your race evolve. Your avatar will have the choice of either exploring the planet, trading with other towns, crafting and selling your items or experimenting with and learning technology. The game play will be very dynamitic. (Sandbox mmorpg to its finest, or SP game play). After building your house, town and cities, the end game part will bringing your race to the space age and exploring space, and talking with other players.

Game Break Down Explained:

The game break down is the method of explaining each stage of the game creation. There are many different methods of doing break downs, each developer will come up with their own method over time but I will explain my break down methods.

I will normally use weird terminology to explain what I want but when I bring the design to the team we will revise it and fix/modify anything that needs to be done; however this break down is basically for you to understand what you are aiming for. Its okie to overly explain things so you convoy your vision better. I usually tag things like so (001), it is easier to categorize things that way. I will explain the break downs in my next post.

In the past few weeks, I have decided to show people how I do my job at FuismStudios. Here is a concept design I am personally working on to reach development. I'll be adding everything in dev notes. If you have questions during this by all means just ask.

Base Build Concept:

Project to create a MMO/SP designed game that will have features from 4 different games, 1 movie lure integrated in to the over all theory. The base idea is to infuse game characteristics from [Civilization Series], [Fable Series], [Skyrim], and [The Sims]. I will also include lore from the [Star Trek] fiction.


Game Integration:

How the each game will play a part in the overall game design and plan. I will break apart each feature in a vague manner to help isolate what features I am looking for. This starts off very vague and will eventually become its own style of game as it reaches close to production.


Civilization Series:

The core micro-management system of Towns, Cities, Population and Army System.

Usage: The overall system will help players manage the estates that they will control and build up over the start of the game. It will also help on the space level, helping players manage not only their cities but planets as well.
Fable Series:

The Housing System and Marriage System.

Usage: Allowing players to build their house from ground up will help give them a sense of Achievement when it goes from House to Estate. The Marriage system will help them to build families and run ancestors (i.e. The Guild – their family tree system)
Skyrim:

The RPG storytelling and overall character building (I like the new system of building a house, but mainly the overall Story Telling and Character Building)

Usage: To help create a better story for players to be involved in, deepening the lore of the game. We will also use the overall character building system, when a player Levels its something big not something that should be considered small achievement. A Grand Event if you will.
The Sims:

The House Building / Creation System.

Usage: The House Building System is very interesting in The Sims, it will allow players to build any type of building that they can; either crazy or logically built. I believe it will give players more enjoyment as they build not only their house, but their estates, cities, buildings and even planets.
Star Trek:

Aliens Exist, Space Travel, Mystery, Lore and Exploring Space/Discovery of Life or New Things

Usage: There is nothing more enticing then space exploration and discovering new things. I want to add the "sense" of Star Trek to the game world, allowing players who reach this level to be the first out there finding new races (players) and discovering / trading / stealing new technologies.

After a year of having DeviantArt, I decided to login after having some desire to create, or rather learn to create a manga. I posted an ad on the forums in search for a manga-ka I wonder if anyone will reply. However, as I am doubtful I will find something there is always a chance it could happen. I am currently finishing up some touches for the initial entry and if all goes well, maybe it will go on.
